The Department of Agriculture and Forestry of the Directorate for Regional Planning, Economic and Rural Development (LWLD) within the Office of the Upper Austrian State Government serves as the central contact point for all matters concerning agriculture, forestry, and fisheries in Upper Austria. It ensures the legal, technical, and organizational implementation of agricultural and forestry funding programs, guidelines, and laws, manages funding calls as well as information and advisory services, thereby promoting the sustainable development of rural areas.

Our mission is to promote a future-oriented and sustainable agriculture and forestry sector in Upper Austria. We support farms, forest owners, and associations through targeted funding programs, advisory services, and knowledge transfer to ensure economic stability, ecological diversity, and social responsibility in rural areas.

Primarily funded are agricultural and forestry enterprises, associations of enterprises, and SMEs active in the agricultural and forestry sectors, forest owners, forestry service providers, associations, as well as institutions for research and knowledge dissemination. The department directs its offerings to those actors who contribute to the sustainable management of agricultural and forest resources and to the development of rural areas.
