Mission & Vision
The Andrea von Braun Foundation is committed to overcoming disciplinary boundaries in order to promote unexpected synergies and innovative approaches. In particular, it supports projects that contribute to sustainability and the strengthening of ecological border areas, bringing together various fields of expertise—ranging from natural and humanities sciences to culture and art, as well as traditional crafts—on an equal footing. Through transparent learning papers and open exchange of experiences, knowledge is to be made accessible in the long term and interdisciplinary collaboration strengthened.
Target groups
The target group for funding includes natural and legal persons, such as scientists, journalists, students, universities and non-university research institutions, cultural and educational institutions, museums, initiatives, associations, federations, and foundations. Particular support is given to those planning interdisciplinary, practically implementable projects in ecological frontier areas and making the results of their collaboration publicly accessible.
