Bayerische Transformations- und Forschungsstiftung
About the funder
The Bavarian Transformation and Research Foundation was established in 1990 on the initiative of the Bavarian State Government. It has an endowment funded by the proceeds of previous state participations and is designed as a consumption foundation. The foundation supports application-oriented research and innovation projects in natural sciences and technology, in which science and industry—particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs)—collaborate. Funding amounts range from €50,000 to €3 million per project or consortium, depending on the project type, with a maximum duration of three years. Additionally, the foundation supports doctoral and postdoctoral scholarships and provides funds for international research collaborations. In the field of "Transformation," Bavarian companies are financially supported in location-relevant change initiatives.
