About the funder
The Bürgerstiftung Edewecht was founded in 2008 on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Meica GmbH and is a non-profit community foundation. It promotes civic engagement in the municipality of Edewecht by continuously expanding its foundation capital through additional contributions and donations. The proceeds are used in the fields of education and upbringing of young people (including student aid), arts and culture, nature and environmental protection, as well as youth welfare. The foundation awards scholarships and financial assistance, supports local projects, and collaborates with organizations pursuing similar charitable objectives.

Mission & Vision
Our mission is to promote civic engagement in Edewecht and to strengthen the community through targeted support in education, culture, environment, and youth welfare. We aim to continuously increase the foundation’s capital through additional donations in order to enable projects and initiatives that have a positive impact on communal life in the region over the long term. In doing so, we act transparently, for the public benefit, and in partnership with all citizens.
Target groups
Funding is provided to citizens who currently have or have had their primary residence predominantly in the municipality of Edewecht. The foundation supports individuals – especially youth and students – as well as non-profit organizations and projects that implement innovative and sustainable initiatives in the fields of education and upbringing, arts and culture, nature and environmental protection, or youth welfare. The goal is to support those who, through their commitment, strengthen the community and enrich life in Edewecht.
