About the funder
The Bürgerstiftung Unna was founded in December 2006 by more than 200 citizens and businesses of the city of Unna and is supported by the Sparkasse UnnaKamen. As a non-profit, locally rooted foundation, it manages a permanently endowed capital and uses exclusively the proceeds as well as incoming donations to support projects. Its commitment extends to social, cultural, educational, and environmental initiatives in Unna and the surrounding region, aiming to strengthen the common good and create sustainable impulses locally.

Mission & Vision
The Bürgerstiftung Unna promotes civic engagement and aims to provide all citizens with an open platform to jointly realize projects for the common good. Its goal is to sustainably improve the quality of life in Unna through targeted grants in the areas of social affairs, education, culture, and the environment, and to support local initiatives in the long term.
Target groups
The funding is primarily aimed at non-profit organizations, associations, institutions, schools, daycare centers, and individuals in Unna and the surrounding area who wish to implement projects with a local focus. Special attention is given to programs for children and youth, elderly people, disadvantaged groups, as well as initiatives that strengthen community cohesion and the local environment.
