About the funder

The Deutsche KinderhospizSTIFTUNG is a legally recognized foundation under civil law based in Olpe. Founded in 2006 by 34 founders with initial capital of EUR 303,578.99, the foundation exclusively pursues charitable and non-profit purposes. It raises funds from foundation capital, additional endowments, estates, and donations to financially support child and youth hospice work nationwide. To date, over 90 projects with a total volume of approximately EUR 2.1 million have been funded, including the development of outpatient hospice services, projects in inpatient hospices, seminars and meeting opportunities for affected families, as well as professional conferences such as the German Child Hospice Forum.

Mission & Vision

Our mission is to provide reliable support to children, adolescents, and young adults with life-limiting illnesses, as well as their families, by building a sustainable foundation capital and implementing targeted funding measures, thereby securing child and youth hospice care in Germany for the long term.

Target groups

The funding programs of the Deutsche KinderhospizSTIFTUNG are aimed at organizations and initiatives involved in child and youth hospice care. This particularly includes the German Children's Hospice Association (Deutscher Kinderhospizverein e.V.), outpatient child and youth hospice services, inpatient hospices, the German Children's Hospice Academy, as well as projects that conduct seminars, training sessions, encounter weeks, and professional events for affected children, adolescents, young adults, and their families. Additionally, measures for the training and further education of full-time and volunteer staff are supported.
