The Gertrud-von-Ortenberg Citizens' Foundation was established on February 23, 2014, in Ortenberg and sees itself as a foundation by citizens for citizens. It supports charitable and benevolent projects in the areas of youth and senior work, welfare care, art, culture, music, sports, landscape management, nature conservation, local heritage preservation, and international understanding. The foundation’s financial resources are derived from the income of its inalienable capital as well as from endowments and donations. Each year, the voluntary board decides on the allocation of funding to local initiatives and associations.

Mission & Vision
Our mission is to sustainably support the commitment of individuals and organizations in Ortenberg. Through responsible management of the foundation's assets as well as through additional endowments and donations, we aim to provide lasting impetus for social, cultural, and ecological projects. We believe in the power of civil society initiatives and promote activities that strengthen cohesion, participation, and quality of life in our community.
Target groups
Eligible to apply are non-profit associations, initiatives, groups, and individuals with projects in Ortenberg that align with the foundation's purpose. Funding is provided for initiatives in the areas of youth and elderly care, welfare services, arts and culture, music, sports, nature conservation and landscape management, local heritage preservation, and international understanding. Both established organizations and new initiatives may apply for funding, provided they contribute to strengthening the community and promoting sustainable development locally.
