About the funder
The Heiner Rust Foundation was established in memory of Heiner Rust, the long-standing president and later honorary president of the Disabled Sports Association of Lower Saxony. It is based in Hanover (Ferdinand-Wilhelm-Fricke-Weg 10) and supports projects in the field of disabled sports throughout Lower Saxony. With initial capital of €25,000, the foundation funds financial measures and pilot projects to further develop sports opportunities for people with disabilities, promote inclusive sports offerings, and assist clubs with acquisitions, sports camps, as well as training and equipment.

Mission & Vision
We help to move people. The Heiner Rust Foundation is committed to facilitating access to sports for people with disabilities and supporting clubs in creating inclusive sports programs. Through financial grants and pilot projects, we aim to contribute to the participation, integration, and joy of life of people with disabilities.
Target groups
Non-profit organizations, clubs, and associations from across Lower Saxony that plan and implement projects in disability sports are supported. The focus is on children and youth sports, sports for people with intellectual disabilities, inclusive sports programs, and pilot projects. The target group includes both athletes with disabilities and organizations within the sports community aiming to provide inclusive offerings.
