With the merger of Volksbank Allgäu-Oberschwaben eG in 2017, the foundation was realigned. Under the guiding principle "For the People. For the Homeland." it specifically supports two key areas: on the one hand, the assistance of young people on their path into professional life through the VBAO School Service, which offers education partners in the region special programs for career preparation measures; on the other hand, projects and institutions that contribute to the preservation and development of the Allgäu-Oberschwaben home region, such as non-profit organizations and social institutions including hospitals, senior facilities, and kindergartens.

"For the people. For the homeland." – The Foundation of Volksbank Allgäu-Oberschwaben eG is committed to supporting young people in their career orientation and to sustainably strengthening the cultural, social, and infrastructural structures of the home region.

The funding programs are aimed at schools and educational institutions in the Allgäu-Oberschwaben region, particularly within the framework of the VBAO School Service, at children and young people on their way into professional life, as well as at non-profit and charitable organizations and social institutions such as hospitals, senior citizen centers, and daycare facilities, which are supported through financial resources and endowments.
