Mission & Vision
The goal of the State of Burgenland is to ensure sustainable medical care for the population throughout the entire federal state and to prevent impending gaps in general and specialist medical care through early motivation and targeted funding measures. Through long-term contractual commitments and location-based funding models, Burgenland aims to be strengthened as an attractive place to work and live for medical professionals.
Target groups
Medical students, resident physicians, and specialists who are willing to take over a contracted medical practice in Burgenland and maintain it for at least five years are eligible for funding. The goal is to attract both new and experienced doctors for permanent establishment in rural areas, thereby ensuring local healthcare provision.
