The Department of Education, Science and Research within the Office of the Vorarlberg State Government is responsible for the strategic management and promotion of education, science, and research projects in Vorarlberg. It coordinates EU funding (ESF, ERDF), drives educational innovation, supports schools, universities, and research institutions, and provides resources for forward-looking initiatives. The department particularly promotes cooperation between the University College of Teacher Education, the University of Innsbruck, and regional partners to continuously enhance teaching and research quality.

We create optimal framework conditions for education, science, and research in Vorarlberg. Our goal is the sustainable strengthening of the educational location through transparent, evidence-based funding programs and close cooperation with local and European partners. We promote equal opportunities, innovation, and lifelong learning as cornerstones of a sustainable society.

Our funding programs are aimed at schools (from kindergartens to secondary level II), the University of Teacher Education Vorarlberg, university research institutions, educational institutions, and individual company training providers. Additionally, students, teachers, and professionals benefit from advisory and support resources that help them implement projects in the areas of digitalization, inclusion, teacher training, and research cooperation.
