The Ministry of the Interior, for Digitization and Municipal Affairs Baden-Württemberg is the central state authority for internal security, municipal matters, and digital transformation. With approximately 640 employees, it manages key areas such as police, constitutional protection, fire services and disaster control, election organization, municipal and savings bank affairs, naturalizations, as well as the statewide IT strategy. At the same time, it is responsible for promoting and coordinating the digitization strategy "digital.LÄND – digital for all" and supports municipalities in implementing modern e-government solutions and broadband infrastructure.

Target groups
The funding and service offerings are aimed at municipalities and districts in Baden-Württemberg that require support for broadband expansion and municipal investments, at public administrations at the state and municipal levels seeking to implement e-government solutions and modern registry or e-file systems, at citizens and businesses benefiting from secure public infrastructure and digital services such as service-bw and the Open Data portal daten.bw, as well as at telecommunications companies and project sponsors implementing broadband expansion in underserved areas.
