About the funder
Prespa Ohrid Nature Trust (PONT) is an independent trust fund established in 2014 to support the protection, restoration, and sustainable development of the natural areas surrounding Lakes Prespa and Ohrid. PONT provides long-term financial resources for projects initiated by civil society organizations, local authorities, and local communities. The primary funding comes from public donors, including the European Union as well as the governments of Germany and Switzerland.

Mission & Vision
PONT's mission is to establish a sustainable mechanism to promote the conservation and sustainable use of the unique ecosystems of Prespa and Ohrid. The goal is to empower local stakeholders, foster cross-border cooperation, and raise awareness of the value of biodiversity in the region.
Target groups
PONT's funding measures are aimed at local and regional non-governmental organizations in the Prespa and Ohrid catchment areas, municipal and regional authorities and institutions, as well as community and stakeholder groups implementing conservation and development projects.
