Stiftung für die Bürgerschaft (Freiburg im Breisgau)

Public foundation

About the funder

The Stiftung für die Bürgerschaft was founded in 2001 by the Sparkasse Freiburg–Nördlicher Breisgau on the occasion of its 175th anniversary. As an operational and grant-making foundation, it encourages citizens and businesses in the region to engage financially or ideologically. Under its umbrella, it manages both its own funding programs and fiduciary foundation funds (for example, the fund established in 2001 by Mrs. Unbescheiden-Jockers to support child and youth hospice work). Its scope of activity includes youth and elderly care, education and training, science and research, arts and culture, environmental and nature conservation, landscape and monument protection, sports, as well as support for people in need.
