About the funder
The Rheinische Musikschule Foundation of the City of Cologne was initiated in November 2009 by nine founders and officially recognized as a legal foundation by the Cologne District Government on December 14, 2009. As an independent private law foundation, it provides a solid endowment capital, the proceeds of which support special projects and additional offerings of the Rheinische Musikschule Cologne. By the end of 2022, the foundation had invested approximately 220,000 euros in early and gifted education, musical instruments, orchestra trips, as well as projects in primary schools and kindergartens.

Mission & Vision
Under the motto "Living with Music," the Rheinische Musikschule Foundation of the City of Cologne supports broad-based and advanced musical development by providing long-term financial resources. It complements the short-term funding activities of the support association, creates planning security for the Rheinische Musikschule Cologne, and enables innovative projects in socially disadvantaged areas, master classes, as well as cultural and educational programs.
Target groups
The funding measures are aimed at students of the Rheinische Musikschule Köln, particularly children and young people – including socially disadvantaged and highly gifted young musicians. Supported are project work in socially challenged areas, class and group music-making, workshops and masterclasses, the loan of high-quality instruments, concert events, dance and ballet training, as well as audio recordings and cultural exchange programs.
