Walter Kögler-Stiftung
About the funder
The Walter Kögler Foundation was established on November 10, 2008, following the death of the publisher and pioneer of dance music Walter Kögler (1929–2007), upon recognition by the Stuttgart Regional Council. Based on the founder’s will, it allocates his assets to support education and upbringing, art and culture, youth and elderly care, as well as sports – with a special focus on folk dance, folk music, and folk song. The foundation is headquartered in Stuttgart (Königstraße 20). Since 2009, the foundation has annually awarded grants and subsidies for courses, publications, and events in the field of traditional dance and music preservation.
