About the funder

The Bavarian State Parliament is the parliament of the Free State of Bavaria, the largest state in the Federal Republic of Germany. It is one of the oldest representative bodies in Europe. In the 18th Bavarian State Parliament (2018 to 2021), six parliamentary groups are represented: The Christian Social Union (CSU) parliamentary group has 84 members, the Alliance 90/The Greens parliamentary group 38 members, the FREE VOTERS parliamentary group 27 members, the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) parliamentary group 22 members, the Alternative for Germany (AfD) parliamentary group 18 members, and the Free Democratic Party (FDP) parliamentary group 11 members. Additionally, there are five non-attached members following departures from parliamentary groups. The coalition partners CSU and FREE VOTERS form the government, while the parliamentary groups Alliance 90/The Greens, SPD, AfD, and FDP are in opposition.
