Description
The funding program supports the comprehensive planning, establishment, restoration, maintenance, and development of alpine pastures in Upper Austria. Eligible measures include, among others, improvements to alpine pastures, traffic access, as well as necessary helicopter transports. Structural investments such as cattle grids, pasture fences, or technical facilities for water and energy supply, as well as for water disposal and the separation of forest and pasture, are also eligible for funding. The goal is to strengthen sustainable management concepts and to promote regional agriculture through functionally designed alpine infrastructure. The funding is granted as a subsidy and is continuously available to ensure ongoing development planning.
Eligible applicants are natural persons, agricultural and personal communities managing an alpine pasture area. Requirements include, among others, proof of a business concept for investments starting at €100,000, a labor requirement of at least 600 working hours, and at least 3 hectares of agricultural land for structural measures. Furthermore, no parallel funding may have been applied for under the ÖPUL or the special guideline for forestry and water engineering development. Non-agricultural income must not exceed twice the reference income. Only costs incurred after the application has been submitted to the competent authority are recognized. The application must include the funding application, funding declaration, project description, and a cost and financing plan. The application must be received by the State of Upper Austria before the start of project execution.
