Description
The alternative energy promotion – district heating construction in Carinthia supports the new construction as well as the expansion of district heating systems, whose heat originates at least 90% from domestic biogenic fuels, commercial or industrial waste heat, or biogenic combined heat and power generation. With a non-repayable grant, the program aims to strengthen regional value creation, replace fossil energy sources, and make a significant contribution to climate protection. The initiative is continuously available and entitles legal entities such as companies, cooperatives, and non-profit organizations that hold a concession for the production and sale of heat or are organized as agricultural cooperatives to submit funding applications. The measure is valid from 01.01.2023 and continues indefinitely; applications must always be submitted before the start of the work.
A prerequisite for approval is compliance with the valid guideline of the domestic environmental promotion, a boiler conversion efficiency of at least 85%, as well as an overall utilization contract guaranteeing the sale of heat from at least 75% of the fuel input or an increase compared to the existing situation. For submission, among other documents, the signed funding contract with the Carinthian Platform for Renewable Energy (KPC), the confirmed final accounting form, as well as original invoices and payment receipts are required. An on-site inspection of the system will be conducted; payment is made after submission of all documents and subject to budget availability. Through this funding, organizations in Carinthia can implement climate-friendly heat supply systems and effectively realize sustainable energy projects.
