Description
The community-oriented funding program "Work Assistance and Job Support" in Upper Austria supports psychosocially disadvantaged individuals from school graduation up to retirement age in integrating into existing companies. Recognized sponsoring organizations according to § 27 Upper Austrian Equal Opportunities Act provide direct services such as assistance with job search, counseling in conflict situations, and indefinite support during the employment relationship. Indirect services include pedagogical-organizational planning, networking with municipalities and companies, as well as quality assurance. Partner companies receive a proportional subsidy between 30% and 70% as compensation for reduced performance capacity and to finance mentors who act as internal company contact persons. The subsidies cover wage losses as well as expenses for mentoring, thereby strengthening sustainable employment in regional businesses.
Funding requirements include, among others, lawful permanent residence in Upper Austria, a medically confirmed psychosocial or intellectual impairment degree according to § 2 Upper Austrian Equal Opportunities Act, and the waiver of equivalent benefits under other legal provisions. Applicant organizations submit their application to the responsible district administrative authority; in addition to the decision on sponsor recognition, a medical certificate and income proofs must be submitted. Since the funding is granted indefinitely and continuously, applications can be submitted at any time. This program not only promotes individual participation and self-esteem but also strengthens social responsibility in the regions of Upper Austria through community-based workplaces.
