ARF - Quantum Austria (Processing Fee)

ARF – Quantum Austria (Settlement Fee) promotes basic research, technology and knowledge transfer, as well as the expansion of high-performance computing infrastructure in Vienna. The initiative is supported as a grant until 31.12.2026 with funds from the EU program NextGenerationEU and has a budgeted volume of 7.48 million euros. With regard to the EU Framework Programme for Research, a high level of cutting-edge research is to be ensured in order to sustainably strengthen Austria’s scientific competitiveness. The focus is on cooperative projects that promote both national and international networking in the quantum research environment.

Eligible for funding are companies, educational institutions, and public organizations active in the field of quantum research or as operators of high-performance computing infrastructures. A prerequisite for funding is the conclusion of a settlement agreement in accordance with the Qu-AT special guideline. The application deadline runs until 31.12.2026. The program targets research institutions as well as technology-oriented enterprises seeking to further develop their innovative capabilities through competitive funding measures. Successful participation strengthens Austria’s position in the European research landscape and contributes to the sustainable modernization of scientific infrastructure.
