Description
The funding program for the expansion of early childhood education and care services for children under three years old in Upper Austria supports private legal entities and company crèches with a grant to cover investment costs. The goal is to create additional childcare places, convert operations to VIF-compliant opening hours, establish accessibility, and optimize spatial quality standards. This funding thus makes a decisive contribution to sustainably expanding the childcare infrastructure for children under three years and enabling attractive learning and play spaces throughout the region.
Eligible to apply are associations, parishes, religious communities, individuals, and companies operating a suitable early childhood education facility in accordance with the Upper Austrian Childcare Act. Prerequisites include a compliant provider status and the joint provision of co-financing funds by the State of Upper Austria and the private applicants. Eligible costs include construction expenses for new childcare places, investments in accessibility measures, structural adaptations for VIF-compliant opening hours, as well as spatial quality improvements. Applications must be submitted before the start of construction measures; the funding period runs until 31.08.2027. For the application, planning documents with cost estimates must be submitted, followed by a final accounting with a total cost statement upon completion of the work.
