Description
The funding program "Barrier-Free Businesses" is aimed at small Viennese companies with up to 49 employees that wish to make their products and services fully accessible to people with disabilities. Under this grant, structural and non-structural measures to implement accessibility are subsidized once at 25% of the total costs. The funding contribution is capped at a maximum of €2,500 per calendar year and does not require new construction but specifically supports adaptations such as ramps, door widenings, or accessible sanitary facilities. This incentive creates sustainable improvements in Vienna’s infrastructure and service offerings, assisting companies in the inclusion of customers and employees with disabilities while simultaneously making the location more attractive.
Eligible for funding are companies that fulfill their employment obligations under § 5 BEinstG or are not subject to this regulation. Excluded are conversions due to mandatory official measures, new constructions, major renovations, and private adaptations. To apply, a cost estimate or invoice as well as proof of the number of employees and fulfillment of the employment obligation must be submitted to the responsible funding authority. Applications can be submitted continuously since January 1, 2013, until the funding volume is exhausted. With this initiative, the City of Vienna makes an important contribution to a barrier-free economic environment and promotes equal opportunities for all people.
