Description

The basic funding of Salzburg Research Forschungsgesellschaft mbH (SRFG) was designed by the Salzburg State Government as a permanent shareholder grant to sustainably promote research projects in the key technologies of the ICT sector in Salzburg. Public institutions receive an annual funding commitment based on a funding agreement in accordance with the articles of association. The measures cover a wide range of topics: from internet technologies and knowledge and media management to intelligent mobility and innovation management, as well as e-tourism, e-health, and interdisciplinary projects in education and culture. By combining fundamental research with practice-oriented transfer, innovative solutions are created that contribute to digital transformation and strengthen the innovation location.

Funding may be used proportionally to cover project-related own contributions as well as to finance costs in coordinated co-financing participations. Additionally, the funding supports the implementation of transfer projects for the exploitation of research results and creates financial leeway for the development of pioneering prototypes and digital applications. Furthermore, the expansion and maintenance of existing research lines, the further qualification of employees, strategic projects, and the financing of uncovered management costs are supported, ensuring efficient project management. A prerequisite is the conclusion of an annual funding agreement; proof of use is provided through annual reports or knowledge balances, quarterly reports, and individual coordination meetings. Thanks to the continuous application possibility without a deadline, the program offers maximum planning security for long-term successful research work in Salzburg.
