The Free State of Bavaria supports agricultural enterprises in financing investments in the digital sector to optimize operational management, improve environmental compatibility, enhance animal welfare, and increase competitiveness.

Description
The Bavarian Special Program Agriculture Digital supports agricultural enterprises in Bavaria in the introduction of modern digital technology to optimize operational management, enhance animal welfare, and improve environmental compatibility and competitiveness. Eligible to apply are small and medium-sized agricultural enterprises or associations with headquarters or operating sites in Bavaria that meet the required minimum size according to the EU definition and plan investments from the product list published in the funding guide. Only new investments in digital sensor and control technology in crop production, digital hoeing and plant protection systems, as well as sensor technology for animal monitoring, are funded. Used or previously funded equipment as well as replacement acquisitions are not considered.
Support is provided as a one-time grant amounting to 40% of eligible expenses for investments in sensor and control technology (Parts B and C) or 25% for animal monitoring systems (Part D). Depending on the sub-area, the maximum limits per application range between €15,000 and €100,000. License and usage fees for digital applications are reimbursable for up to three years. Applications can be submitted online at any time via the iBALIS portal. Required are a cost estimate, proof of the farm number including PIN, and—if requested—a product recommendation list and a technical statement from the competent authority. Project implementation may only commence after approval. The approval authority is the State Leadership Academy for Nutrition, Agriculture and Forestry, which provides support for technical details and application formalities upon inquiry.
