Description

Accompanying silvicultural measures in Tyrol support private forest owners, agricultural communities, transport cooperatives, and forest owner associations in targeted interventions to stabilize and maintain forest areas. Funding is provided for plantings and simple technical measures to secure landslide-prone slopes, cross- and high-felling to protect against snow pressure and rockfall, as well as staking and tripod constructions to protect reforestation areas. Additionally, pure grazing areas and grazing fences are subsidized to relieve the forest through controlled grazing. A prerequisite for funding is a demonstrated need for action in the affected forest areas; the measure must comply with the forestry funding catalog, and a formal funding application must be submitted. Flat rates, own contributions, in-kind services, and material costs are eligible; billing may require comparative offers and is monitored on-site by the district forestry inspection.

The funding is granted as a direct subsidy from the State of Tyrol and is available indefinitely; applications can be submitted at any time. With this instrument, the State of Tyrol aims to strengthen the protective and climate functions of forests, secure slope stability, and minimize snow and rockfall damage. The goal is to support the adaptation process to climate change and promote sustainable forest management. Only a standardized funding application needs to be submitted for the application; funding is provided directly from the budget upon approval, with no maximum total volume specified.
