Description
Under the title Subsidies for Quality Improvement in Animal Husbandry, the State of Tyrol specifically supports measures to optimize animal products in the region. Funding is provided particularly for expenses related to genetic performance enhancement and quality assurance of livestock, the establishment and maintenance of breeding records, as well as investigations to determine genetic traits. The removal and proper disposal of fallen stock also qualify for funding. With a subsidy rate of up to 70%, the program aims to achieve breeding progress while preserving breed diversity and to strengthen the market orientation of high-quality animal products. The measure is part of the CAP Strategy 2023–2027 and runs until December 31, 2027; applications must generally be submitted before the project start, usually by November of the previous year.
Applicants eligible for funding are legal entities and their associations acting as recognized breeding organizations or specialist associations according to the Tyrolean Animal Breeding Act. Beneficiaries include individual agricultural enterprises and SMEs in primary production. Prerequisites are recognition as a breeding organization in Tyrol or activity as a specialist association, as well as engagement in agricultural primary production. Applications must be submitted via an online form or in writing and include the funding application with a declaration of commitment, a project data sheet, and the calculation basis. The goal is site-appropriate production of high-quality animal products, sustainable utilization of market opportunities, and support for farms in important development and control tasks in animal husbandry.
