Description
Contributions to protective forest restoration in Vorarlberg represent a valuable component of environmental and climate protection as an ongoing subsidy program. Funding is provided for maintenance and reforestation measures that sustainably preserve and restore the protective function of forest areas. The goal is to stabilize endangered slopes, prevent natural hazards, and ensure the long-term ecological effects. The program targets various stakeholders in rural development, including private forest owners, agricultural communities, forest owners' associations, and municipalities.
Eligible to apply are all individuals and institutions whose forest areas are located in Vorarlberg and who have a recommendation from the district forestry inspection. Additionally, reforestation must not be endangered by wildlife damage. The subsidy covers up to 90% of the eligible costs. For a complete application, plans, a project description, a technical report, as well as detailed cost breakdowns with original invoices and proof of payment must be submitted. Since the funding period is not limited, applications can be submitted at any time. The technical evaluation is carried out by the district forestry inspections, followed by an on-site inspection. Interested parties will find a reliable source of financing for sustainable protective forest restoration projects.
