Description

The funding supports public institutions, interest groups, associations, and companies in Tyrol in implementing uniform signage and networking of hiking and mountain trails in accordance with the regional concept. The goal is to increase the attractiveness of the hiking areas and to specifically direct visitor flows. Since 2013, budget funds have been available indefinitely, covering up to 70% of eligible expenses for signage. The measure contributes to achieving a consistent external presentation of the hiking infrastructure and making the natural experience area safely accessible for both locals and tourists alike.

Planning, implementation, and maintenance of hiking signage by regional authorities, tourism associations, municipalities, as well as other actors in the public interest are eligible for funding. A prerequisite for funding is a fully submitted application, which, in addition to planning documents, also proves approval by the responsible authority. Submissions are possible at any time and without limitation. On-site inspections are carried out by regional advisors who ensure that all measures comply with the guidelines of the Tyrolean hiking and mountain trail concept and are carried out economically and efficiently. Grants are awarded in the form of subsidies and are based on a graduated funding rate model ranging from 50% up to a maximum of 70%.
