Description

The "Assisted Living" program of the State of Styria offers an indefinite subsidy for the creation of age- and disability-appropriate housing forms with basic service provisions for senior citizens. The goal is to cooperate with social welfare associations as well as municipalities and the city of Graz to establish or modernize demand-oriented neighborhoods. This offer is aimed at public institutions, interest groups, and non-profit associations planning charitable housing projects. Through a contract with the state government, construction and equipment costs for barrier-free access, senior-friendly sanitary facilities, and basic care services are subsidized. The continuous application process enables flexible project implementation and timely realization on-site in Styria.

For successful funding, in addition to a properly formatted application, compliance with the guidelines and an early planning consultation with the responsible department are essential. Upon completion of the facility, a final inspection must be conducted before the grant is formally fixed in a funding agreement. Quarterly invoicing based on actual residents ensures transparency and proper use of funds. Application documents, detailed plans, and accounts must be submitted. Through this model, senior citizens can enjoy a high level of independence and care security in their familiar environment, while municipalities and associations further develop the infrastructure for forward-looking social housing.
