Funding objective

Description

The state of Burgenland compensates for potential disadvantages faced by commuters with their primary residence in Burgenland and workplace in Styria by covering the additional costs incurred through the combined purchase of a personalized KlimaTicket Styria and a VOR-KlimaTicket Region compared to the VOR-KlimaTicket MetropolRegion. With this direct funding in the areas of infrastructure, regional development, as well as energy efficiency and climate protection, public transport services are strengthened and the share of public transport in commuter traffic is increased. The subsidies cover 100% of the difference amount, up to a maximum of €151 per ticket category per year. Applications can be submitted for the period from 01.01.2025 to 30.11.2025 and cover a project duration of 11 months.

Eligible for funding are natural persons with primary residence in Burgenland as well as entrepreneurs who provide their employees with a personalized KlimaTicket Styria and a VOR-KlimaTicket Region as a job ticket free of charge. In addition to proof of residence, the prerequisites include personalized ownership of both tickets and an overlap in validity of at least 100 days. Sufficient documentation includes the completed application form, copies or photos of both annual KlimaTickets, and – for companies – proof of payment per ticket as well as an employee supplement form. The funding ends automatically as soon as the funding application has been fully received by 30.11.2025 at the latest. This measure specifically supports commuters from Burgenland and sustainably strengthens mobility in the eastern region.
