ERDF 21-27: Integrated Sustainable Urban Development & City Regions (Art.11)

Within the framework of the ERDF 2021–2027, grants are awarded in Vienna for integrated sustainable urban development. The measure pursues a methodical implementation of a holistic development strategy at the urban and metropolitan level, accompanied by strategic and advisory activities. The goal is to promote innovation-oriented economic and location development, strengthen resource conservation, and advance climate change adaptation measures. Targeted investments in key urban projects are funded, which optimize coordination among municipal stakeholders and set new impulses for urban transformation processes. A non-repayable grant, co-financed by national and EU funds, is available as a funding instrument.

Eligible for funding are public institutions, non-profit organizations, and companies that implement sustainable development processes in Vienna and belong to Measure 4 of the IBW/ERDF & JTF 2021–2027. Funding requirements include the project location in Vienna and assignment to the mentioned measure. Eligible expenses include consulting and planning services as well as investment measures in key urban projects. Applications can be submitted from January 1, 2021; the deadline is December 31, 2029. The funding offers municipal and metropolitan actors the opportunity to implement forward-looking projects and thereby make a sustainable contribution to the quality of life in the metropolis.
