Description

In the federal state of Lower Austria, a grant program supports non-profit organizations and public service providers in the construction and renovation of residential and care facilities for people with intellectual disabilities and/or mental impairments. The funding areas include social and health infrastructure as well as urban planning aspects to create barrier-free and appealing living environments. Through direct financial support, sustainable improvements in care and provision are achieved, contributing to the strengthening of self-determination and participation of this target group.

Eligible applicants are those with a valid contract pursuant to § 48 of the Lower Austrian Social Assistance Act 2000, which ensures the provision of places in social assistance facilities. In addition to proof of public interest—demonstrated by positive statements from the specialist department as well as criteria of thriftiness, economic efficiency, and appropriateness—measures must contribute to improving the social situation of state citizens. Another selection criterion is the preservation of the financial capacity of the provider. The application deadline is open-ended, allowing project ideas to be submitted at any time and planned for the long term.
