Description
The EAFRD funding supports generational change in agriculture and accompanies young farmers during their initial establishment in all federal states of Austria – from Burgenland to Vienna. Within the framework of the CAP Strategic Plan 2023–2027, a one-time basic premium of €3,500 as well as additional allowances for ownership transfer (€2,500), master craftsman qualification (€5,000), and comprehensive farm records (€4,000) are available. This investment aims to promote the sustainable development of vital rural areas and ensure widespread, resource-efficient production. The total funding volume amounts to €73.5 million, provided by federal and state governments, and runs until December 31, 2027.
Eligible applicants are natural persons up to the age of 40 as well as partnerships or legal entities, provided that young farmers exercise long-term effective control over farm management. Requirements include initial farming on own account, proof of agricultural professional qualification, a farm concept, a written partnership agreement, and at least 3 hectares of agricultural land. Applications must be submitted digitally via the AMA funding platform within one year of initial establishment. Applications are possible until December 31, 2027, and are processed upon completeness and compliance with the funding guidelines.
