Description

The financial support for the supervision of pupils in North Rhine-Westphalia aims to enable primary schools to offer reliable care before and after lessons as well as during non-teaching times and holidays. The programs "School from Eight to One" (8 a.m. – 1 p.m.) and "Thirteen Plus" (from 1 p.m. onwards) are funded, as well as "Silentien" for individual language and mathematics support in small groups. Eligible to apply are municipalities, municipal associations, special-purpose associations as sponsors of public schools, as well as sponsors of approved substitute schools. The programs target measures that involve at least ten children in primary schools or eight children in special schools, implement concepts approved by a protocol of the school conference, and guarantee all-day care within a school year. Priority is given to newly established groups and facilities in socially disadvantaged areas.

The fixed-amount funding comprises €4,000 per group for "School from Eight to One" (primary schools), €5,000 (special schools), as well as €5,000 (primary schools) and €7,500 (special schools) for "Thirteen Plus." For "Silentien," a flat rate of €750 is granted. Applications can be submitted by March 31 each school year to secure funding for the following school year. A cost plan, the application form, and the protocol of the school conference must be submitted. The measure can be carried out in various rooms within the school or in school-related facilities. Payment is usually made in two equal installments on September 1 and March 1. This funding program supports primary schools in closing supervision gaps and ensuring a close link between teaching and individual support.
