Description

Funding Program "Wastewater Disposal in Rural Areas"
The state of Baden-Württemberg supports private property owners and public institutions in the environmentally sound disposal of wastewater in rural peripheral areas. Up to 30% of eligible expenses are subsidized, including investment costs, in-kind contributions, engineering services, as well as statutory sewage and canal fees (max. €7,000 per property). The aim of the program is to connect properties that have so far been disposed of decentrally either to the public sewer system or – if such a connection is not possible – to install a small sewage treatment plant according to the state of the art. The continuously open funding opportunities allow applications to be submitted at any time to the lower water authorities.

Participation Requirements and Application Documents
Before the grant approval, the project must be coordinated with the municipality and water authority, and all necessary legal procedures must be completed. Construction may not begin before approval. A minimum personal contribution of €10,000 per property is required. Eligible applicants also include municipalities acting in a fiduciary capacity as well as application consortia of multiple properties. A complete application includes, among other things, a cover letter, an explanatory report on the drainage situation, cost estimates, site plan or sketch, municipal approval, and confirmation of the absence of legal objections. Permit fees, insurance contributions, sludge disposal, rainwater systems, or wastewater disposal for new buildings are not funded. The program specifically promotes sustainable infrastructure development and contributes to climate and water protection in rural areas.
