Description
The funding supports the consumer advice service of the Chamber of Labour for Salzburg by providing an annual lump-sum grant of €100,000 from the State of Salzburg. The goal is to permanently secure the services offered within the framework of consumer protection and to make them accessible to all citizens of the State of Salzburg—regardless of chamber membership. A prerequisite for the ongoing funding contribution is proof of the advisory services provided in the previous year, which includes a detailed listing of telephone inquiries and personal consultations across various subject areas. Since the funding is granted indefinitely, no separate applications are required.
All public institutions offering comprehensive consumer advice and properly documenting this to the Office of the Salzburg State Government (Department 9: Health) are eligible. The proof of services must be submitted by March 1 of the following year, while the payment of the funding contribution is made no later than August 15 of the current year. With this continuous support, the State of Salzburg aims to ensure and maintain a high quality of advice and availability of consumer information in the long term. Based on the cooperation agreement from 2008 between the State of Salzburg and the Chamber of Labour, the funds are disbursed as payments to intermediaries and contribute significantly to strengthening regional consumer protection.
