Description

The implementation of hospital-relieving measures in Lower Austria is supported through annual grant funding from the Lower Austrian Health Promotion and Prevention funds. The Lower Austrian Health and Social Fund specifically promotes projects that relieve the inpatient acute care sector of hospitals, expand alternative care facilities, and optimize emergency medical services. Eligible for funding are companies, non-profit organizations, and public institutions active in the thematic areas of health, social affairs, and work & social affairs. By providing funds in accordance with Art. 15a B-VG and the NÖGUS Act 2006, measures are supported that sustainably strengthen the regional care landscape while simultaneously reducing patient flow in acute care hospitals.

Both investment costs for construction measures and operating costs and material expenses for nursing beds, transitional care, home nursing, or mobile services as well as psychosocial support are funded. Applications must be submitted no later than September 30 of the year preceding the grant year. Minimum requirements include a detailed project description, information on personnel resources and qualifications, the catchment and care area, a cost and financing plan, as well as proof of hospital-relieving effects. Evaluation is based on eligibility for funding, alignment with objectives, completeness, professional and financial suitability, and co-financing possibilities. This structured funding offers committed providers in Lower Austria an attractive opportunity to implement innovative care models and sustainably improve health infrastructure.
