Promotion of Vocational Education and Training

The promotion of vocational education and training is aimed at Vienna residents with their main residence in Vienna and supports participants in strengthening their professional qualifications and sustainably improving their career prospects. Through a target group-specific subsidy, parts of the course costs and examination fees are waived, with the amount of funding determined based on the level of education, income situation, and employment status. This offer is open to both employed and job-seeking individuals and ensures flexible application submission within continuous funding windows. The initiative helps to reduce barriers on the path to advanced training and further education measures and facilitates access for Vienna employees to high-quality educational opportunities.

To receive financial support, a formal application must be submitted to the Vienna Employees’ Promotion Fund. In addition to having the main residence in Vienna, eligibility requires meeting individual criteria based on educational level, income, and employment status. Only course and examination fees incurred during successful educational measures are funded. The following documents must be submitted for application processing: a completed funding application, proof of registration, proof of current status (employed or job-seeking), and proof of income. Since the funding is continuously available without a fixed deadline, interested parties can apply for support at any time and plan their vocational training flexibly.
