Description

The statewide initiative to promote grassroots and recreational sports in Baden-Württemberg aims to sustainably strengthen the social resources within the sports sector. Non-profit sports clubs, sports associations, specialized sports federations, as well as the Baden-Württemberg State Sports Association, can receive financial grants for a variety of projects. Funding is provided particularly for construction measures at sports facilities (new construction, expansion, renovation excluding land acquisition), the procurement of sports equipment, the implementation of courses and training measures, as well as the remuneration of part-time instructors, club managers, and youth leaders. Additionally, the program supports measures for cooperation with schools and daycare centers, youth welfare projects of the sports youth, social purposes such as sports insurance and sports medical examinations, as well as institutional administrative tasks of sports associations and federations.

Funding is granted as a subsidy within the framework of co-financing with funding rates ranging from 30% to 100% of eligible expenses. Project applications must be submitted annually by March 31 in writing or electronically to the Baden-Württemberg State Sports Association, which consolidates and approves the funds through the Regional Council of Karlsruhe. A prerequisite for funding is non-profit status as well as membership in the Baden-Württemberg Sports Association. Expenses for land acquisition, parking lots, club restaurants, ongoing maintenance, and representational duties are not eligible for funding. The guidelines of the Ministry of Education define the legal and procedural framework conditions and ensure transparent allocation of funds for a vibrant and future-oriented sports landscape.
