Description

The Kerscher Civic Foundation supports non-profit organizations and public institutions in Bavaria as a grant provider with the aim of promoting forward-looking and sustainable projects in the Nuremberg metropolitan region. The focus is on diverse thematic areas such as education and upbringing, child, youth, and elderly welfare, support for disabled persons, general charitable purposes, public health services, environmental and nature conservation, as well as art and culture. Projects are funded that create lasting added value through their social commitment and demonstrate economic viability in their financing structure. Continuous submission opportunities allow applications to be made at any time, enabling initiatives to respond flexibly to new funding needs.

For a successful application, applicants must be a domestically tax-privileged corporation or a public law corporation and demonstrate sustainable civic engagement. Evaluation criteria include, among others, the project's innovativeness, relevance to local engagement, as well as economic efficiency and financing structure. Submission must include a brief project summary, a detailed project description with objectives, a timeline including the expected completion date, a precise cost calculation, information on third-party funding sources already applied for, and the requested funding amount. Additionally, a current tax exemption certificate, the statutes, and a legally binding signature must be attached. Through this clearly structured process, the foundation ensures transparent allocation of funds and strengthens civic engagement in the region in the long term.
