Description
The Nieheim Citizens' Foundation supports charitable and benevolent projects with a local connection to the city of Nieheim and its regional surroundings twice a year. Initiatives in the areas of youth and elderly care, art, culture, monument protection and conservation, education, public and vocational training, environmental and nature conservation, integration of refugees, international understanding, protection of marriage, family and intergenerational justice, as well as measures to support people in need, are funded. Eligible to apply are non-profit organizations and benevolent institutions recognized under the German Fiscal Code (AO § 52/§ 53). Funding requests from private individuals may only be submitted under AO § 53 (neediness). All projects must be transparently documented; upon completion, reports and receipts must be submitted, along with photographic material for public relations purposes.
Applications must be submitted by March 31 and September 30 each year via a PDF form, supplemented by cost estimates or qualified cost appraisals. A guideline assists with the careful completion of all required information regarding the organization, project objectives, measures, and financial planning. Upon receipt of the documents, the foundation confirms the application and decides on the funding amount in a board meeting. If approved, the grant is transferred to the specified account after successful implementation and accounting. The aim is to strengthen civic engagement, promote intergenerational cooperation, and make a sustainable contribution to the social and cultural life in Nieheim.
