Funding of the Dr. Wolfbauer Foundation

Since its founding in 1988, the Dr. Wolfbauer Foundation has been committed to the professional and scientific advancement of young medical professionals in Northern Swabia as well as medical students from the Donau-Ries region. With an endowment of 2.2 million euros and an established partnership with the Augsburg Clinic, it financially supports training and continuing education measures and promotes medical research projects. In addition, outstanding medical publications are honored with funding awards. To date, funding amounting to approximately 700,000 euros has been granted in line with the foundation’s purpose. Based in Donauwörth, the foundation operates as a legally recognized public foundation under civil law and is a member of the Association of German Foundations, thereby contributing sustainably to the strengthening of medical science and research in Bavaria.

Funding priorities focus on education and training, research & innovation, as well as health and social projects. Eligible for funding are private individuals residing or working in Northern Swabia as well as medical students from Donau-Ries. The foundation finances grants for advanced training, research work, and scientific events. Currently, however, no new scholarships can be awarded as the foundation is reviewing its allocation guidelines due to the ongoing low-interest-rate environment. As soon as new funding opportunities arise, applications can be submitted through the respective departments. The Dr. Wolfbauer Foundation thus remains a reliable point of contact for all those seeking to advance medical projects or further develop their professional qualifications.
