Description
The funding for the implementation of measures and initiatives according to the Health Promotion Act supports non-profit organizations, public institutions, and companies in Vienna in practice-oriented projects and scientifically accompanied initiatives for holistic health. The goal is the preservation, promotion, and improvement of the physical, mental, and social well-being of all population groups in their living environments. Project applications can be submitted online on an ongoing basis. Personnel expenses, material costs, travel expenses, and external evaluations are funded, while catering, overhead, and investment costs are excluded. Applicants must be based in Austria; natural persons and legal entities based abroad are excluded. With their project idea, applicants contribute to raising awareness about preventable diseases and their psychological, mental, and social influencing factors and specifically target social groups and local communities in Vienna.
The funding is provided in the form of a grant and usually finances one-third to two-thirds of the recognized project costs. For workplace health promotion, graduated funding rates apply; micro and small enterprises can additionally benefit from flat-rate amounts. Required documents include the applicant guideline, the online application in the project guide, and a legally valid signed signature sheet. Decisions on funding amounts up to €72,000 are made by the FGÖ office; higher amounts are reviewed by the FGÖ board. Funded projects must be settled within three months after completion and subjected to an external evaluation if the requested grant exceeds certain thresholds. Implementation and evaluation are carried out according to the quality criteria of the Austrian Health Promotion Fund and generate valuable insights for future health promotion projects.
