Funding of the ELFRIEDE GILDEMEIER FOUNDATION (classical music for children, Essen area)

Funding from the ELFRIEDE GILDEMEIER FOUNDATION is aimed at musically gifted children of preschool and primary school age (up to the completion of their 14th year of life, in exceptional cases up to 16 years) in the Essen area. Private individuals, educational institutions, non-profit organizations, and public institutions can receive a grant for classical instrumental and vocal lessons as well as for the purchase of instruments, sheet music, and teaching materials. Furthermore, the foundation also enables institutional funding, for example for daycare centers, to integrate early childhood music offerings into everyday life. Through financial support, young talents are to gain access to high-quality musical education regardless of social background and be accompanied in their artistic and personal development.

Applications can be submitted year-round and are based on a few requirements: residence in the Essen area, proof of musical talent, and the age criterion up to 14 or, if applicable, 16 years. Eligible expenses include directly attributable costs such as lesson fees, instruments, as well as sheet music and materials. The continuous awarding of grants aims to pave the way for children to classical music and to sustainably support their commitment. Interested institutions and private individuals can apply at any time and thus contribute to young musicians discovering and further developing their voice.
