Support for the Hanse Foundation Jörg Wontorra

Since 2003, the Hanse Foundation Jörg Wontorra has supported non-profit and public institutions as well as educational establishments in Bremen, Hamburg, and Schleswig-Holstein in school and extracurricular education and youth welfare projects. The focus is on socially disadvantaged children and young people, particularly from migrant families and disadvantaged neighborhoods. Funding is provided in the form of grants and can be applied for throughout the year. Projects that strengthen creativity, team spirit, and social participation are considered, as are initiatives that promote prevention and integration through community engagement. The project location must be in Bremen, Hamburg, or Lübeck and have a clear focus on education, youth welfare, or social cohesion.

The foundation’s goal is to open up new perspectives for young people and support them in their personal and social development. Targeted funding measures aim to spark curiosity, develop talents, and strengthen social skills and personal responsibility. Special support is given to projects that enable intercultural encounters and actively involve children from migrant families. Educational institutions and families also benefit from the funding and contribute to creating stable living environments and sustainable networks. In this way, the Hanse Foundation promotes the integration of young people and makes an important contribution to social cohesion in the Hanseatic cities.
