Description

The funding from the Kreuzthaler Bürgerstiftung KulturLandschaft Adelegg supports the project “Netzwerk Kreuzthal” in the Allgäu and is aimed at businesses, non-profit organizations, and public institutions in Bavaria. As a grant program with ongoing application opportunities, it focuses on strengthening small-scale, family-run agriculture, the maintenance of valuable mountain meadows through dairy goat farming including cheesemaking, and sustainable infrastructure development. It combines nature conservation, gentle tourism, and regional marketing – from goat and sheep products to vegetables, honey, and jams. A partner from the regional food industry ensures inclusion in an established marketing program, while inns and farmers’ markets represent the local “Kreuzthal brand.” Through its educational aspect, the foundation also promotes environmental education and supports school classes at the school farm to impart ecological knowledge and experiences in nature.

Initiatives dedicated to the preservation and development of the Adelegg cultural landscape are supported. These include farmers, leaseholders of farms, associations, initiatives, families, recreational visitors, as well as children and youth. Through the establishment and expansion of a guesthouse, snack bar, and holiday apartments, a unique holiday and learning offer is created far from mass tourism. With contributions from endowments, sponsorships, and public funds, the foundation advances the participation of all farms in the region and secures land for landscape conservation. Cultural and social projects in the community and region are supported, as well as local environmental education centers, library services, and cultural events. Thus, a vibrant network is created that further develops biodiversity, sustainable tourism, and regional economic structures in the heart of the Allgäu.
