Description

Since 2004, the Manfred Fischer Foundation of the Westphalian Merchants' Guild has supported trainees, students, and graduates in the commercial and economic sciences sectors with residence or place of study in Westphalia, especially in the greater Dortmund area. Funding is provided for tuition and school fees, contributions to living and study expenses, as well as grants for stays abroad. Additionally, non-profit organizations and institutes can receive funds for initiatives and publications related to commercial vocational training. A prerequisite for funding is proof of above-average grades or a strong commitment to performance. Awards are made as grants, with no fixed application deadline – applications are accepted year-round.

Interested parties can submit their documents including personal data, CV, copies of previous certificates or work references, information on language skills, private interests, as well as study and career goals. Additionally, information on financial circumstances and, if applicable, references are required. Selection is made by the foundation board together with the advisory council; there is no legal entitlement to funding. Upon acceptance of the support, scholarship recipients commit to reporting on their academic progress biannually. This program promotes not only financial relief but also the development of entrepreneurial thinking with social responsibility – an ideal step for the development of personal resources and the strengthening of future leaders.
