Description
The funding initiative of the state of Baden-Württemberg supports non-profit organizations, public institutions, companies, as well as private individuals in legally designated nature park areas in the implementation of projects aimed at enhancing recreational value, preserving natural and cultural heritage, and conducting awareness-raising measures. Funding is provided particularly for investments in infrastructure facilities for sustainable recreation (e.g., construction and planning of trails, visitor guidance systems), studies and measures in habitat and species protection, measures for the maintenance of cultural heritage, and communication tools such as brochures, exhibitions, or educational offerings. Financing is provided proportionally from EU funds, state funds, and lottery funds from the Glücksspirale, with funding rates between 60% and 70%, depending on the measure. A minimum amount of €500 (private/legal entities) or €4,000 (public sector) must be reached.
Applications must be submitted before the start of the measure and can be continuously submitted to the respective responsible nature park office. Only projects in rural areas according to the CAP strategic plan are eligible for funding, provided they have not already commenced. Measures in built-up localities are excluded, except for studies, visitor management, or awareness-raising. Eligible expenses include planning and construction costs, study and personnel costs, as well as expenses for information offerings. Requirements include, in addition to a detailed project description, a complete cost and financing plan, official permits, site or construction plans, and, if applicable, owner declarations. A binding period of five to ten years must be observed.
