Support for the Lower Austrian Municipal Representatives' Associations

The funding supports Lower Austrian municipal representative associations in financing training and further education measures. The focus is on training activities that contribute to enhancing professional and organizational competencies. As a grant provided by the State of Lower Austria, this measure ensures reliable financing throughout the current funding period. Interested associations can submit an application at any time, as the deadline has been open indefinitely since May 19, 2022. The subsidy is granted as a direct grant and is provided in accordance with the expenses for planned training events. The Office of the Lower Austrian State Government, Department of Finance, F1, is responsible for processing and ensures a simple and transparent allocation process.

A prerequisite for funding is a formal application by the respective municipal association as well as the assurance of contribution payments from the municipalities in accordance with § 17a of the Lower Austrian Municipal Remuneration Act. Only interest groups and other associations at the state level that represent the concerns of municipalities and their elected officials are eligible to apply. The amount of funding is based on the actual documented costs of the training activities and is approved within the framework of available budgetary funds. This measure helps to sustainably strengthen the professionalism of municipal decision-makers and thus improve the quality of administration in Lower Austria.
